In an effort to reach and assist more individuals in need, Helen’s Heroes is partnering with 412 Food Rescue for the 2024 Golf Outing. All proceeds, after expenses, will be donated to 412 Food Rescue to sustain, rescue, and provide food to individuals in our communities facing food insecurities. We believe this will allow Helen’s Heroes to better facilitate our mission and allow each donation to impact the lives of those in need more efficiently.

About 412 Food Rescue

412 Food Rescue launched in 2015 as a direct response to the disconnect between the nearly 40% of all food that is wasted in the U.S. and the 1 in 7 people experiencing food insecurity. Food waste is also the single largest component in landfills and is one of the leading causes of greenhouse gas emissions.

412 Food Rescue is creating a more sustainable future with equitable food access by matching surplus food from retailers to households and nonprofits that serve individuals experiencing food insecurity. Fresh food is transported by a network of on-call volunteers, equipped with the desire to do good and the 412Food Rescue app, making food rescue easy and convenient.

This innovative approach eliminates barriers to food access and ensures that fresh, healthy food is accessible to everyone.

Since 2015, the organization has rescued 26 million pounds of food, provided 22 million meals, and mitigated 14 million pounds of CO2!

Allegheny Country Club

The golf outing will be held at Allegheny Country Club (250 Country Club Rd, Sewickley, PA 15143) and there is a dress code. The dress code states:

Men Appropriate Dress:
Slacks
Bermuda or walking-length shorts
Golf Shirts (All short-sleeve shirts must have a collar)
Long-sleeve Mock or full Turtlenecks
Golf Sweaters and Outerwear
*All golf shirts must be tucked in

Inappropriate Dress:
Blue Jeans (or denim of any kind)
Short Shorts
Tennis Attire
Bathing Suits
Cargo Pants or Cargo Shorts
Golf Shirts without collars
Short-sleeve Mock Turtlenecks
Tee Shirts
Tank Tops
Exercise/Fitness Clothing

Ladies Appropriate Dress:
Slacks
Golf Skirts or Skorts
Collared Golf Shirt
Golf Appropriate Shorts
Golf Appropriate T-Shirts
Sleeveless Shirts with Collar

Inappropriate Dress:
Blue Jeans (or denim of any kind)
Excessively Short Shorts, Skirts, or Skorts
Tennis Attire

Leggings without a skirt, shorts, or shirt
Sleeveless Shirt with no collar

Hats
Hats must be worn forward on the golf course and practice areas and removed upon entering the clubhouse and dining areas.
